Silver Spring Networks Expands Executive Team George Flammer to lead Engineering, Raj Vaswani Appointed CTO

San Mateo, CA, June 26, 2006 - Following a year of customer acquisition, product advancement and exciting partner developments, Silver Spring Networks, innovators of standards-based utility networking technology, announced today that George Flammer has joined the executive team as Vice President of Engineering. George will be responsible for leading the engineering effort and will report to Scott Lang, President and CEO.

George has more than 20 years of experience in software and hardware development. Prior to joining Silver Spring Networks, George was Director of Communications Technology at Metricom where he was a key contributor in the design and development of the Ricochet high-speed data radio product and data service. After leaving Metricom in 1998, George co-founded G3M Corporation as its CTO. There, his primary responsibility was the design and development of the Panthera product line. George joined Rosum in September 2002 as Director, Systems Engineering and was named VP Engineering in early 2003. At Rosum, George built and guided multidisciplinary teams in the development of real-world indoor positioning.

George earned his BSEE from Stanford University. He has also authored more than 20 domestic and international patents as well as several papers and magazine articles in the fields of software development, radio and packet communications and automated testing.

In a related announcement, Raj Vaswani will serve as Chief Technology Officer full time. Raj had previously served as both CTO and Vice President of Engineering.
